Hi Martha:
Wow -- that is a lot! I'm intrigued by the idea of a series of videos for parents. How would you envision those? Could they be off-the-shelf products or would you need to produce them in-house to ensure they address the particular needs of your school community?

Hi Cindy. We have actually done some of this work at my school for our parents. Our community liaison, who speaks Spanish, and one of our teachers with great experience in technology, created these videos. They were short video clips demonstrating "how to's" for signing on to our virtual instructional program and also included instructions describing how to create a zoom account. Although these short video clips were brief, they were appreciated. I am looking forward to more work in this area, being more careful and cognizant. Our families could just request a particular video clip teaching them "how to" access what they need. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for our parents to support their children. As we all know, we went into this unprepared. I am encouraging our staff to utilize our time over the summer to be creative and better prepared with the possibility of a second wave/occurrence. I just feel that with virtual or not, these type of learning strategies for our parents are always a positive, and also help our students move forward with support in their home and education.
