My student is non-verbal and has a Lot of behaviors. The classroom she is in are with other Lifeskill adults (18-22) and all of them are on the lower level of the spectrum they wouldn't understand mental health issues though I am sure they must have them to a degree.

Our classroom needs are more intense and hands on because the needs are so great.

It's difficult enough for our students to communicate effectively and clearly even when some of them having communication devices, PECS or sign language.

I believe for Educators our mental health needs would be geared towards mental exhaustion and finding healthy ways to deal when some of us are dealing with heavy aggressions with some students.

Hi Ashley:

Thanks for joining our conversation. Our goal here is to identify ways the school, the district, even the state can support teachers in their classrooms.

Besides having more hands helping you in the classroom, what else do you need? If you were to sit down with a state legislature, what would you ask for?
